things just aren't adding up.
First you say your DBA "won't" give you the credentials
Now you say he "can't" give you the credentials because he doesn't remember them.
And yet any DBA knows how to connect to the database as sysdba without a password.

Ok, let's suppose for a minute you figure out the first problem and you actually get connected to the db. Let's even assume you get connected with the proper privileges to create your own account. What next? Like I said earlier, at that point you will be walking around in your database with a loaded gun that you obviously don't know how to use.

May be OP's DBA knows the fact about logging into DB as sysdba without password and hence playing around saying he forgot the password Smile
