Hi All,

I need some understang regarding managing temp tablespace size.
Ex: My DB is currently at 42GB, as per my DBA,they allocated TEMP tablespace over 200GB.
so how it will manage if this is the case...

I don't have much idea about tablespace memory management.

Thanks
Sanjana

Who is "it"?
Temp space usage depends on the SQL statements used not on the size of the database.
What is your question exactly?

Temporary tablespace is used for sorting data. The size will be related to the statements and queries used, not the actual database itself.

When learning, sometimes it is good to hear the same explanation in different ways. Not everyone has English as their first language. Also, if everything was RTFM, there would be no need for teachers and schools.

Who speak about RTFM here?
Different ways? Where are the different ways? You said EXACTLY what I said (just adding "Temporary tablespace is used for sorting data" which is true but not complete so is misleading if someone gets an out of temporary space error with no sort).

It is as complete as your answer, but clearer. As you agreed:

I think I understand the misunderstanding, Michel. My first post looked like I was replying to you. In fact I was replying to the OP. Apologies for the confusion.
